Jean DEYROLLE est un peintre, illustrateur et lithographe français né en 1911 à Nogent-sur-Marne et mort en 1967 à Toulon (Var).
Grandson of the painter Théophile Deyrolle and grand-nephew of the painter Alfred Guillou, Jean Deyrolle belonged to the young avant-garde that was to renew the french "Abstract art" after the Second World War.
He was influenced by Paul Sérusier and the Nabis, which earned him the nickname of "Abstract Nabi" .
He received the Kandinsky Prize in 1946 and became friends with other great painters of the" Lyric Abstraction" or of the" Geometric abstraction" such as Gérard Schneider, Serge Poliakoff, Emile Gilioli, Victor Vasarely and Jean Dewasne.
He can be found in several museums and has been exhibited in France and Europe.
